About Psychometric Testing
Psychometric testing refers to the process of administering specific standardised tests to examinees as part of the process of assessing a range of things. Psychometric testing should be done by a specially trained professional who is trained and experienced in administering and interpreting tests. Psychometric tests are most frequently used as part of the assessment procedure for IQ testing, learning difficulties like dyslexia or dyscalculia, autism, neurodegenerative disorders, cognitive impairment as is the case with dementia, assessment of traumatic brain injury, mental health disorders and personality assessments. Psychometric tests are often required on behalf of bodies such as court, schools or medical councils.
